We have been having so much creating! But first a huge THANKS ! To Quiltdad for the goodies! I was so grateful to receive the package. First Christmas creation was these fun patchwork pillows - I used a tutorial from Sew Mama Sew, for the patchwork, and another tutorial from Cluck, Cluck sew for the tree.

YEAH!
So a lot has been going on, and I'm excited to share some fun. Right before Halloween I finished the quilt I did with the Fat Quarterly quilt along. It was so much fun to complete. I love, love, love FQ, and highly recommend a subscription. It was my first quilt that I machine stitched myself. What do you think? I was going for the spooky tree look. I think my next project is going to be smaller. "Spooky Fun", the name of the quilt, was about 50 inches x 90 inches. Want to know the best part? I did the whole top for $7.00, that's right my friends. Found the jellyroll on clearance for $7.00, and the black was a hand me down from my GG (grandma). Can't get cheaper then that.
Guess what else? I won! A great package of goodies from Quilt Dad - can't wait till they arrive! I have some more I will be posting soon, gotta take my monkey to the dentist.

MIA
I know I'm a horrible blogger. No excuse, just crazy busy with life - ohh, and reading other fine fabric blogs out there. Anyone else find great blogs addicting? I've decided maybe I should blog more, so here goes. I have been working on a few things. From the Old Red Barn Quilt Along - forever ago . . .

Dumpster Diving

So my machine died. It's about 13 years old. Actually for the first 11 years of it's life it just sat - maybe that's why it died. Going from sitting in a closet to quilting as much as possible would be like never training for a marathon and then running it. Poor machine. I'm kinda going crazy without it, so I've been piecing a little on my daughters Hello Kitty Janome machine that we got at Target for $25. It actually runs a lot smoother than my old $400 singer, funny how things work out. Anyway any words of advice on what to buy? I'm still calling myself a beginner there's a lot to learn. I've also been crocheting more. Made this flower headband for my little sassy. She truly is one of my greatest creations yet. Just feeling really lucky to be blessed to see that smiling face.

Well it's been awhile, hopefully I will get better at this whole blog thing. I really enjoy reading others, just not so good about posting. This quilt my friend and I did using Fairy Frost. We created the blocks using a Buggy Barn pattern if I remember correctly. It was fun to try something out of my comfort zone. Not just in style, but in color/fabric choices as well.
